Prayers

I've been told several times that when Connor says something cute or funny I need to write it down to remember it. So....
The other night Connor was saying his prayers and he said "Dear God, thank you for hinies and weenies. Otherwise, our tummies would really hurt!" I tried to contain myself and not laugh and he proceeded to thank God for everything he could think of "walls, bed, curtains, underwear, sun, moon". Every once and I while he would stop and ask "pillows, Mommy does God give us pillows?" I would respond with "God gives us everything" and he'd continue on! It is a difficult concept for him which I like because it means he is really thinking about it. Recently his Nana took him to Chic-fil-a and she said "Let's thank God for our lunch before we eat" and he said "Why, did God make these chicken nuggets?". I love that he challenges us so that we really can teach him. Later that day I explained that God created all animals including chickens and that God gave us farmers to take care of the chickens so that one day we could eat them for lunch. I may have need to tip toe around that a little more because he was a little bothered by the fact that he had eaten the farmer's chickens. He has since eaten Chic-fil-a so apparently it didn't bother him too bad but this time he did thank God for his chicken nuggets!

ROOOOAAAR!

Mommy & Daddy took me to see Madagascar Live this weekend. It was a lot of fun. I got Alex the Lion stuffed animal, a new t-shirt and got my face painted just like Alex the Lion. The lady who painted my face did such a good job and she did it so fast too. Aren't I cute!?! Madagascar was really funny but I didn't not like Julian the sassy lemur. He kept throwing this little squirly animal and that is mean so I didn't like him. We got cotton candy and fruit snacks that were so yummy. We sat beside this nice little girl who told me she didn't eat sugar. What else is there to eat I wonder??

Cutie!

I am such a cutie, aren't I! Mommy said this haircut made me look all grown up. I'm getting so smart too. Every time I meet someone new they always comment about how clear I talk for a 3 year old. The other day at school I showed my class at school what to do if there is a fire at their house. I told them how to call 911 and what to tell them so that the firefighters would know how to help them (address, # of people in the house, etc). I also showed them how to touch door handles to see if they are hot before opening them, how to crawl under the smoke and how to STOP DROP AND ROLL if you get fire on you. Then I told them to have a "SAFE SPOT" outside the house where you go until the firefighters get there. My teachers were very impressed and said they were going to get me to show the big kids at my school what to do too.

Tractor time!

Daddy took me to drive the tractors at grandaddy CW's one day. It was FUUUUUNNNN! We drove all over the place and Daddy let me steer all by myself. It was awesome! Mommy sat inside because she said she was a nervous wreck. I don't know what she was so nervous ~ we didn't wreck!

Baby Jesus

I was trying to play catch up and post in order but I just HAD to post this before I forgot. Just the other night I was putting Connor to bed and we had just finish reading some books. Connor sat up and looked me right in the eyes and said "Mommy, you've got a baby Jesus in your belly." Playing along I said "Oh really, how do you know that?". He said "because I know. I prayed for a baby when we went to the lighthouse". We took him to see the lighthouse that we had gotten married at. This was months ago in April and it is now January! I told him " I'm sorry baby but Mommy doesn't have a baby Jesus in her belly". He said "Don't be silly Mommy it's not THE baby Jesus, just OUR baby Jesus." I continued to try to convince him that I didn't have a baby in my belly. He was not having it. So...... If in a few months it turns out I am pregnant (which will not happen) then my child will hopefully make us millions being a psychic! Or..... maybe you guys know the next "Mary" and you don't even know it!!

Marbles Take 2

We've been to Marbles a few times now and we have such a great time when we go. Connor could stay in the fireman and the kitchen areas the entire time. He loves to pretend to be a fireman. In these pics he's putting out a fire and rescuing someone. He still pretends to be fireman Nathan. Nathan is the fireman that let Connor sit in the fire trucks months ago but he has not forgotten him. He pretends to be him almost every day. He also loves to be cook. He cooks us "sammiches" all the time.

Brother from another mother!

Connor & Aidan have been friends since the day Aidan was born. I still remember it like yesterday when we took baby Connor to see baby Aidan in the hospital. We've had pictures of the two of them together through every stage of their lives. We have been so incredibly lucky to have friends that live so close to us. It's so convenient because we are all so close ~ not just the boys. They are as close as brothers. This post is a shout out to the Swaine family. Thanks guys for being there for our family through ups and downs. We love you all so much. We can't wait until baby Rylee joins us.

Happy Birthday!

Connor started out his birthday with presents in bed! We gave him a keyboard that does all kinds of fancy stuff and a floor puzzle. He played with the keyboard nonstop ~ he definitely has musical talent!

Dr. Connor

Connor's favorite thing to do is dress up and pretend. He found one of my smocks for work and put it on and instantly he was a doctor! Scooby was real sick and Dr. Connor fixed him right up!

Banana Man!

Connor has an amazing imagination. He took my head band that I use when I wash my face with and a banana and created a super hero costume. He ran around the house with the banana out in front of him making flying noises. Crazy child!

Halloween 2010

Connor had to be a fireman for Halloween...... of course! His costume was awesome. At our neighborhood Halloween party he saw a grownup dressed like a fireman and insisted that we had to go talk to him. I'm not sure if he was a real fireman or just dressed up himself but Connor thought they were the coolest together!!

First Major Boo Boo (October 2010)

Connor fell at school and busted his head wide open. We took him to the ER and 8 hours later he got 5 stitches. It was the worst experience we've had since his surgeries when he was little.

Fall Fun (October & November 2010)

We went to the NC State Fair which was great! I was not looking forward to the crowds but it really wasn't bad. We rode some rides and had yummy food. Connor's favorite part was driving the school bus that they had set up there.

We went with Jamie, Erick, Aidan, Mike and Layne to one of the pumpkin farms in the area. Connor's favorite part was driving the John Deere tractor.

We went with Aidan to his school's fall festival. They had a fire truck there so Connor was EXCITED!

Little Brad (September 2010)

Connor chose this outfit ~ he is too cute!

Wiggles (August 2010)

We went to see the Wiggles Live with our buddies Erick, Jamie and Aidan. It was pretty fun. I think the kids actually like the Wiggles better on TV. There is something about watching 50+ year old men dance around and sweat that is a little disturbing to all ages :)

Marbles (July 2010)

Marbles is TONS of fun. We could honestly play there for 8 hours and not get bored.

Fireman Connor (July 2010)

Connor's treat for not having any accidents for 2 weeks was to go see the fire trucks. He is obsessed with fireman and fire trucks and when we asked him what he wanted, this was it!! We have a friend who is married to a fireman so thank goodness for connections! They let him do so many cool things there. After we saw every single fire truck inside and out we had some sweet tea and cheetos with the fireman in the firehouse.

Elmo Live (June 2010)

We went to see Elmo Live and had VIP / FRONT ROW SEATS ! We got to meet Elmo and Zoe and all of the characters came up to Connor during the show and danced with him. It was a lot of fun...... for all of us!

Butterfly Whisperer (June 2010)

Connor found a butterfly and it actually let Connor hold it for a while.

Family Portraits (April 2010)

While we were at the beach we got family portraits done at the beach in Corolla and by the Currituck lighthouse which is where we got married.
